Gestures Against the Wild by Guy Cooper and Gordon Taylor

collection of gardens. There are 20 case studies of representative
modern gardens, and all are exciting. From the comfort of your
armchair you can visit The Getty Garden, Ton der Lindens
natural garden in Holland, Fernando Carunchos
wheat parterre and calm green shapes, or Jacques Wirtz who builds
on the great classical gardens of the past. There is a fascinating
chapter on healing gardens. Topher Delaney has specialised
in these, attached to hospitals where patients need calm and quiet.
