Hello and welcome to the first newsletter of May.
As the days and nights get colder, we hope you are keeping well and staying warm. To help you get through the colder months, here are some user-submitted recipes that are sure to warm you up!
First of all we would like to welcome all our new members to the site. GrownUps now has over 30,000 active members browsing the site and taking part in discussions, chats, and more. We would also like to say a big thank you to everyone who has voted for us so far in the NetGuide 2009 People's Choice Awards. We really appreciate your support. If you haven't already, please lend us your support and vote for GrownUps for the Best Lifestyle Site Award!
As we were browsing through all the entries from the Edmonds Cook Book Competition we ran while ago, we noticed that we actually have quite a substantial list of user-submitted recipes in our Food & Beverage section. We had an idea, but before we pursue it any further we would like to hear your opinions. Would you be interested in a special GrownUps e-Cookbook? A list of all the best recipes from GrownUps members that you could download to use. Let us know your thoughts on this and if there is enough interest we will start planning something special!
In other news, it has been a busy year so far for GrownUps columnist Allan Dick. He's driven from Auckland to Cromwell and back over Easter, as well working non-stop through it all. Catch up with Allan as he talks about everything from the economy, to crime, poverty, and sheep.
Finally, we would once again like to promote the Stellar Trust Charity Dinner being held on Saturday the 16th of May. This dinner features a number of celebrity guests and is raising funds to combat the 'P' drug epidemic. Funds raised will go towards providing education, training programmes and creating awareness of the Rise Above P campaign. Click here to find out more.
Thanks for all your support. We hope you enjoy the rest of your newsletter.
Kind regards,
The GrownUps Team
