WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?:

Still a few frosts around. Hardy plants will handle the frosts - Cabbage, Cauli and Broccoli are ready to plant now, but tomatoes, corgettes and cucumbers won't be any good unless they have heat. Plenty of Polyanthus for colour at the moment - best buy at $1.00 each.

We have a really good special on trees at Lorneville - Bare rooted specimen trees in bundles at good prices. Make sure you don't miss out!

Exclusive to Diacks are Macrocarpa raised gardens, easy to assemble, no nails, anyone can build. Have a look at our sample at Tweed st, constructed and planted out. There will be a Demonstration on cue tv on september 1st.

Seed potatoes still selling well, 3kg bag for $7.50, sprouted seed in trays or you can buy 2 or 3 or even a 25kg sack. We cater for any size garden.

Time to start planning the garden for Christmas - Peas, carrots and new potatoes.

Still some prunning in progress - the roses are looking near leaf burst, so time to get the spraying done. Good time to apply fertilizer as well. Rhodos and Camellias appreciate some top dressing too as they are budding up at the moment and some of the early varieties already flowering.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BE DOING?:

Time to visit our garden centres. We're all stocked up with all your gardening needs. We have a new seed stand stocking Mr Fothergills range of seed. We also pack our own seed at $1.99 per a packet.
