For the week of: Wednesday 7th February 2008

WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?:
Still good weather for southland, especially on New Zealand day. We hope you had a good day off. Thanks for visiting us, that were working, good to see gardeners out in this heat. Lettuce plants selling extra well with salads and bbq's the main diet at the moment. Time to look ahead though to the Autumn and planting starts again after some rain. There's alot of growth before winter while the ground temperatures are still high. Spring bulbs are coming in now, Anenomes, Ranunculus and bulk Daffodils 20 bulbs $20. There's a good budget grade of plants at Lorneville in one litre pots at $4.99 each. We have Tussocks, Grasses and hedging plants, the more you buy the cheaper they get, ask for our bulk buying deals. Big trees are tired in the heat, some even changing colour, especially the maples. Shrubs have had a good tidy up at Lorneville, some of last years stock is out at half price. At tweed st it's tlast week for the 33.3% off stock in our renovatsale. The builders are here next week and we need everything gone to make room for the foundations to our new Tunnelhouse cover. We'll be ready for winter.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BE DOING?:
Watering and weeding. Mulching is a good alternative to keep plants damp over summer, it also suppresses weeds. Come in and check out our sprinklers and irrigation systems. Look out for gregs demostration of watering systems. Maybe next monday night on cue t.v.
