WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?:
Winter has set in, cooler temperatures and some snow on the ski fields, really closes the gardens down. First of our new seasons roses arrived today. If you have an order in, be prepared for a phone call to come and collect it. It makes our jobs easier if everyone collected their orders promptly. There's a few of last years roses out on special if you are looking for a bargain. Tree tidy up time in the shop now the leaves are down. We still have good specimen trees, good established plants from last season. They have good strong roots and are ready to plant. Don't forget to stake all trees well at planting time. We have a big load of sawdust in our driveway at Lorneville ready for our sawdust bed and open ground trees, so look out for those if you are planning to plant shelter. Poplars, Willows, Pines, Macrocarpa, Douglas Fir. Vege gardens should have shallots and garlic in them now. The boss is going to order some seed potatoes for those who are really keen to get some sprouted. Give the compost a kick with dolomite lime and compost activator to help break down all the leaves. If you are after some colour for the garden be in to stock up on Polyanthus. Keep warm.
