WHATS BEEN HAPPENING?:
It's all go, spring has arrived in the south. We have our spring fling weekend on the 6th with lots of great garden ideas. Our raised garden beds have created alot of interest as have our cedar sheds, be sure to check those out. Weve had big sales in fruit trees and seed potatoes already, and the season has just begun. Two good weekends has increased sales of vege plants and tomatoes are just beginning. Annuals are a little bit small yet, but are growing everyday, we have Livingstone daisies and Lobelia ready, great for baskets and borders. The seed stand needed a top up this week as packets are selling by the handful. We have Mr Fothergills new range, so thats worth a look. More Gladioli bulbs have arrived, blues and greens are the most popular colours. There's a good range of Dahila tubers and new in stock are Begonias. Still a few Lilies, they need to be planted now. Big demand for fertilizers, our mixer is used everyday, as we supply all our own recipes from grandads book. Especially lawntop dressing as people mow their lawns and discover moss. We mix and suplly all our own potting mixes as well, so we always know what we are selling.
WHAT SHOULD YOU BE DOING?:
Make the most of the good weather, get an early garden planted. Come
into our shops over the weekend and get some bargains. Our Lorneville
branch still has some great barerooted trees at half price, 3 for only
$75.00. We still have shelter trees available, best planted this month.
Mow your lawns and use lawn top dressing with moss killer.
