Yes – Kaipara Coast Plant Centre & Sculpture Gardens are open all Waitangi weekend including Waitangi day, usual hours 9am to 5pm.
TRENDS & PLANNING AHEAD:
We have noticed a real trend over the last 6 months for people to concentrate their energies on improving their own gardens rather than selling up and moving to a new one. Consequently we have had one of the busiest summers we have ever had.
With property prices going down, spending money on your garden can add a lot of value to your own property, as well as making your place a much nicer place to live.
This time of year is a great time of year to plan ahead. A good way to help you plan ahead would be to come in to see Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens, which are our own display gardens. It is a very pleasant time of year to visit the gardens. We suggest allowing at least an hour, as there is a lot of information to look at on the way around, as well as a wide selection of quality sculptures by local artists, most of which are for sale.
OPEN UNTIL 9:00pm VALENTINES DAY:
The Sculpture Gardens will be open until 9:00pm on Valentines Day, 14th of February. This is a great opportunity to bring a picnic dinner and picnic rug, and enjoy an evening in the gardens. We will be limiting numbers, so please book ahead by sending an email to: david@plantsnz.co.nz, or giving us a call on 09 420 5655. Normal gardens entry charge of $10 per adult applies.
SCULPTURE WALK WITH SALLY:
On Sunday 15th February 10:00am, Sally Lush (Curator of Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens) will take a guided tour around the gardens. She will talk about the various pieces and answer any questions you may have. To book, email Sally on: sculpture@plantsnz.co.nz. Numbers will be limited. Allow around 1.5 hours to walk around the gardens. Normal gardens entry fee applies.
GARDEN MAINTENANCE:
One of the new services we are offering in 2009 is a garden maintenance service. If you are too busy to do things yourselves, or you need a bit of a hand every now and again to help keep up, let us know, and we can come around to give you a hand.
