The Benefits of Space in the Garden
As the weeks speed by into summer and the end of year activities, the garden
gives us a place of peace and a place to recharge our batteries.
When planning a garden it is important to consider that creating areas of space are as important as filling up gardens with colour, shape, textures and fragrances for the enjoyment of those who will be in the garden.
Consider if the garden will be mainly for adults and/or children and will animals share the garden.
The storm a few months ago created havoc and it also brought the gift of some new vistas around the garden. Spaces and more light have been unexpected bonuses from the power of Mother Nature.
The gardens are looking fantastic at the moment and the photo shows one
of my favourite garden scenes.
The calmness of this view nurtures my spirit and reminds me to keep connecting with nature as the busy times increase.
Working in my garden is incredibly therapeutic to the mind as well as the added benefit of exercise for the body.
Herb gardens are the ultimate in therapeutic gardens as they work on all the senses and you can harvest the herbs for teas, food and healing as well.
Zeke, our herb farm dog, regards the garden as his domain and he thinks
he has the best backyard in the world.
Dogs are like gardens in that they are very beneficial for our health.
They love you unconditionally and there is a marvellous saying that goes like this:
God, please help me to be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.
